Homework 6 – History of Data Science

Question 1. John Snow and Cholera Deaths

This graph shows the positions of the London water pumps that people used to get water and the number of cholera deaths in each house near the pumps. People during the 19th believed that the bad smell of the streets was the source of cholera. But John Snow demonstrated the correlation between cholera and infected water pumps.


Question 2. Galton’s Heights

This figure shows the relation between mother’s and father’s heights and their child’s heights, as well as the genders of the children and midparent’s heights.

Question 3. French Departments

This chloropeth shows the population density of each department of France.
